Life history of 12 disciples:
Simon Peter
Simon was born at Betsaida (in Galilee,Israel).His fathers name Jonah,apostle Andrew was his brother.Jesus named Simon Cephas,meaning in the Syriac language a Rock (Peter is the Greek translation of Cephas) Peter was called by the apostle Paul a pillar of the church.He primarily ministered to Jews,it was believed that he preached in Babylon.When Peter went to Rome John Mark the writer of Mark Gospel served as a translator to Peter.
Peter rejoiced in the Lord when his wife was killed in front of his eyes,he was imprisoned for 9 months in darkness and torched severely,because of the Roman Emperor Nero Circus Peter was crucified head towards downwards in Rome in 67 AD.
